Is Melbourne tap water safe without a filter?
Yes. Melbourne's mains water meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. Aquaridge is about taste, smell, sediment and what reaches your fixtures and appliances, not about making unsafe water safe.
Will a whole-home system drop my water pressure?
Not noticeably. We use large 20 inch housings with 25 mm connections, sized for whole-household flow, so pressure stays strong when several taps run at once.
How often do the cartridges need changing?
Typically once a year for the carbon stages and 6 to 12 months for the sediment stage, depending on your water. The pressure gauge shows when it is time, and we remind you anyway.
What does installation involve?
A licensed plumber fits the system on your main supply, usually near the water meter, in two to three hours. Water is off for about an hour. You receive a plumbing compliance certificate before we leave.
Does it remove fluoride or soften hard water?
No. Carbon filtration does not remove fluoride, and Melbourne water is soft enough that softening is rarely needed. If you want fluoride removal at the kitchen tap, ask us about a reverse osmosis add-on.
What if I move house?
The system stays with the house, and we can quote a new one for your next home. Care Plans can be cancelled anytime or transferred to the new owner.
What does the installed price include?
System, cabinet, three fitted cartridges, bypass valve, pressure gauge, licensed installation, compliance certificate, first twelve months of cartridges, care guide and clean-up. There are no call-out fees.
Where does the system go?
On the main supply after the water meter, usually on an external wall nearby. The cabinet is weatherproof. If your meter area is unusual, send photos and we will tell you what is possible.
Do you install outside Melbourne?
Installed packages are for Melbourne metro and surrounds. Everywhere else, order supply only and have a local licensed plumber fit it. The Care Plan ships Australia-wide.
Does it work on tank water?
Yes for sediment, taste and odour. Rainwater that may carry bacteria should also have a UV stage. Ask us and we will quote the right configuration.
How do I pay?
Online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, or by invoice after we quote. Care Plans are billed monthly or annually and can be cancelled anytime.
What warranty do I get?
Housings carry a 10 year warranty. Workmanship is guaranteed; if something is not right with the installation we come back and fix it. Care Plan members receive an extended warranty while subscribed.
